Social protection and social inclusion in Georgia, 2009

The goal of the project was to create an analytical report regarding the social protection system in Georgia. In order to meet the project goal,  Institute of Social Studies and Analysis used qualitative research methods: desk research and in-depth interviews.

In the framework of the project initial report, interim report and final report were designed. During the project implementation several international conferences were organized in cooperation with European commission representatives, in order to present latest findings.

In the report, the development trends of Georgian demographic, economical, educational, social protection and health care, etc. sectors were presented. Besides, the analysis of population poverty and isolation reasons and risks of concrete social groups from economic and social development are included. The report also covered the up-to-date and relevant information regarding existing social protection system and comparative analysis.

Executive summery consists of five chapters: Economic and demographic conditions of Georgia (1), Social protection system (2), Poverty and social exclusion (3), Pensions (4), Health care and long term care (5).

Final report was presented in May, 2011 on the international conference. Final product is placed on the European Commission and ISSA websites. Institute of Social Studies and Analysis created an internationally important document regarding social conditions of Georgia.
