The goal of the research was to identify teachers' expected flow in potential target groups, ie, how many students and graduates of higher education institutions are expected to be the school teacher.
Research type: quantitative sociological research.
Research method: Face-to-face interview
Research tool - a questionnaire that included open, closed and semi-closed questions.
The research was focused on two target groups: 1. Students of higher education institutions (both of pedagogical and non-pedagogical profile). 2. Graduates of higher education institutions (both of pedagogical and non-pedagogical profile).
These groups were regarded as independent general population. Thus, the representative sample was developed for each target group.1.
The survey covered the following topics:
Sampling
a ) For students
Sampling unit: Students of Higher Education Institutions of Georgia who: S1. Learn on III or IV courses and S2. Learn specialties that potentially (in case of willingness and passing appropriate qualification exam) have a chance to become teachers.
b ) For graduates of higher education institutions
Sampling unit: Graduates of higher education institutions of Georgia who have: S1. graduated from Bachelor in 2009 - 2012. And S2. They learned about the specialties that potentially (in case of willingness and passing appropriate qualification exam) they have a chance to become teachers but still do not work as a teacher.
As such specialties were considered:
Sampling size: 205 completed interviews. Sampling design: two-stage stratified selection. The target (general) population was 23,894 graduates. Stratification was done according to specialties.
